Guitar Pro, the tablature editor software offered by Arobas Music, can be used for several tasks: create, edit and share musical scores; learn to play the guitar if you’re a novice, improve your technique if you already know how to play; create the instrumental tracks that you want; tuner, metronome, guitar fretboard, and other very useful tools can be easily accessed from the application’s good looking interface.

Guitar Pro is available for multiple platforms: Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone/iPad, Android, and BlackBerry. Focusing on Microsoft’s operating system, the minimal system requirements for running the application on a PC are: Intel Pentium 4 processor or better, 1GB of RAM memory or more, 256MB of free disk space, sound card, DVD-ROM drive 1024 x 768 screen resolution, admin rights for installing the application, internet connection for activating it, anything from Windows XP to Windows 8.

The RSE (Realistic Sound Engine) requirements for running Guitar Pro on a Windows-powered machine are: 1.8Ghz processor or better, 2MB of RAM memory or more, 2GB of free disk space, 1024 x 768 screen resolution, sound card, DVD-ROM drive, admin rights for installing the application, internet connection for activating it.

Guitar Pro features a beautiful dark-themed interface. From said interface you will be able to easily access all the features and functions the application puts at your disposal: create your own scores, edit existing scores (there are several examples you can load), numerous notation elements, tablature and standard notation, score player, numerous integrated presets, several types of guitars, support for percussion and piano tracks, diagram generator, MIDI and digital tuners, virtual fretboard, and more.

The trial version comes with the following limitations: it will not open files apart from the ones that come bundled with the application, won’t save files, won’t import/export ASCII, MIDI, or MusicXML, won’t allow you to use more than 3 guitars (nylon, steel, electric), 1 bass, 1 piano, and drums. To get rid of these limitations you need to get a Guitar Pro license.

Guitar Pro is a properly good tablature editor and a must have tool for any guitarist.

Pros

Guitar Pro is available for multiple desktop and mobile platforms. A modern PC will easily meet the system requirements for running Guitar Pro on a Windows-powered machine. The application features a beautiful dark-themed interface. Guitar Pro puts a lot of useful features at your disposal.

Cons

Several trial limitations.
